Very happy to have my artwork ” A Quiet Beginning “ included in the “Solstice” exhibition at The Old Lock Up Gallery . This artwork is based upon large sketchbook drawings of fields . Initially I was looking at how the land becomes etched when ploughing a furrow ready for planting seeds, and new growth . The ploughed lines reminded me of what happens when I draw directly onto a plate , scribing an image into the surface of a plate ready for printing . “A Quiet Beginning” evolved into a collagraph combined with a block print . The exhibition opens Saturday 22nd Nov 2-4.30pm , it will be a lovely show and worth a visit . Do pop along .
